Our latest collaboration is designed exclusively with US artist Lorna Simpson. The nine-piece collection features a selection of Simpson's incredible artwork, spanning various media and exploring themes of gender, culture and race.
The scarves capture her celebrated collages, which feature Jet and Ebony magazine cut-outs, painted with vivid colours to present black women’s hair and weaves as a symbol of power. Exciting new details such as long, dynamic fringing and appliquéd fabrics talk to the artist's mixed-media approach to her work.
Other designs in the collection are taken from her Ice series (2016 - 2018); breathtaking ink and acrylic paintings of glaciers and icebergs underpinning a rereading of race and exploration.
The range is available exclusively at Hauser & Wirth worldwide and online here
