These bespoke for JANECARR hand-made Italian notebooks are covered in printed Japanese paper and lined with hand-marbled monochrome paper. Made entirely by hand in a Florentine workshop with a hand-stitched coptic binding - enabling a perfect opening. Use them to sketch, journal or jot moments you want to remember.

The notebook covers are made from stencil dyed paper using the traditional Japanese "Katazome-shi" method, inspired by kimono printing techniques.

The Florentine workshop creates the marbled paper by hand, carefully selecting a palette of colours and applying them to a water bath, before delicately lowering paper onto the surface of the bath to create intricate patterns. Honouring these ancient techniques means each notebook is unique. Small irregularities are a characteristic of the handmade processes.

Florence has a storied history of artistic bookbinding, with traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation.
