  • NOTO, SICILY
  • Noto, a basking jewel in Southern Sicily, epitomises the grandeur of Baroque, rebuild from the catastrophic 1693 earthquake to become a symbol of resilience and artistic vision. Reconstructed on an entirely new site, the town was conceived under by the architects Labisi, Sinatra, and Gagliardi. Today, Noto invites visitors to wander through its golden-hued streets, where the sun’s rays dance on the soft limestone buildings, casting a spell of warmth and light unique to this enchanting town.

Stroll along Corso Vittorio Emanuele and explore the Cathedral and surrounding piazza, you must try the almond grantita at Caffè Sicilia: an unassuming 124-year-old café that’s now world-famous. For a perfect late evening supper in the cooler evening temperature, head to Ristorante Crocifisso for 'casarecce alla palermintana' (pasta with sardines, fennel and pine nuts) or to Ristorante Il Cantuccio for the perfect pizza.
