An exceptional antique ikebana basket created by Ichikusai, a master house founded by the second generation of the renowned bamboo artist Tanabe Chikuunsai. Meticulously constructed from top-grade bamboo, each strip is flawlessly prepared and layered using expert plaiting techniques to create a dynamic yet balanced form.
The sculptural design embodies refined simplicity and quiet strength — hallmarks of the Chikuunsai lineage.
The piece is in excellent vintage condition, marks and changes in colouration are part of its unique character.
