Style Notes

In a hotel of Havana, under the fixed sun of the Revolution : the fierce and partisan overtones of leather and tobacco meddle with the paneling’s waxen silence. In the cool dimness, fawn grimaces shimmer along with the smoke of cigars and the barrels of guns.

Named after Ernesto Guevara, the politician and revolutionary better known by his pseudonym “Che Guevara”. At times a great romantic, he was also a cigar lover, believing that smoking them was his “only vice” and a gift from heaven.

With three wicks, the Intermezzo Candle (800g) is best placed in large rooms, adorning a fireplace or dining table.

Manufactured at the Trudon workshop in Normandy, France, using unrivalled know-how inherited from master candle makers.

To get the most out of your candle, burn it until the entire surface melts. Should any black smoke appear, trim the tip of the wicks. They should be clean and no longer than 5mm at all times.

Do not leave a burning candle unattended.

    Conscious Craftsmanship

Trudon's story began in 1643 when Claude Trudon became the owner of a store on rue Saint Honoré in Paris, selling spices and candles. During the 18th century they famously became the official wax manufacturer to Louis XIV and the French royal court.

Today, it remains a celebrated luxury fragrance house known for its rich royal heritage and artisanal craftsmanship. Their fragrances are the result of careful development with world class perfumers.

As a timeless object, Trudon candles are the expression of an exceptional know-how, from the waxing to the packaging, and each label is centred and affixed by hand.

All their candles are handmade in their own factory in Normandy, France. Their fabrication begins by the setup of the wicks. They are set at the bottom of each glass so that they stay perfectly centred. The glasses are then aligned on wooden counters before pouring.

Right after the molten wax is mixed with the perfume, it is poured by hand into the aligned glasses. When the wax is poured, the wicks are softened due to the effect of the heat and they slightly bend inside the glass. When the wax starts to solidify, the wicks are straightened by hand to ensure that they stay perfectly centred.
