    Style Notes

    Draw or sketch?
I’m a note-taker and a list-writer - I like to commit ideas to paper, and to draw patterns while thinking.

    Discuss or scream?
Definitely to discuss… and most importantly to listen.

    Stillness or madness?
Both. I enjoy the madness of life, work, play, and the stillness in between. The madness provides the inspiration and drive; the stillness is when the ideas come.

What is your first rule of personal style?
Simple, classic and elevate with jewellery.

    Who is your style icon?
Cini Boeri, the late Italian architect and designer. Simple silhouettes, neutral colours and refined tailoring. She was effortlessly elegant.

    Lifetime treasure or throwaway?
I treasure objects that hold meaning for me, but I’m just as good at letting go of those that don’t. I’m a firm believer in the philosophy of Dieter Rams: “less but better”

What period of design seems most relevant today?
The Bauhaus. They believed in human-centred design, accessibility, and the thoughtful integration of technology. The Bauhaus philosophy offers a clear lesson: use what we already know, work collectively, and design with purpose to make life better for more people.

Where would be your ultimate place to sleep?
Casa de Vidro by Lina Bo Bardi in Sao Paolo. I have always imagined that sleeping high amongst the trees, with the spirit of Lina Bo Bardi, would be the ultimate, restorative, invigorating sleep.
